The important thing is to be SPIRITUALLY STRONG ……

Eph 6:10
Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.

That is why we continually pray our daily scripture prayer.

SO that we can, secondly, pick up, put on and use the armour.

Eph 6:13 – 17
Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God;

During times of war, the essential items of the armour are the sword and shield. You can wear your helmet and breastplate, but without the shield and sword, you will not survive for long. With it, you can protect, defend yourself and overcome!

Eph 6:16
Above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one.

With the shield, we protect ourselves – the shield of faith. The shield is our faith in the Word of God!

What is faith?

Heb 11:1
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

How do we get faith?

Rom 10:17
So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

It means faith is the result when you hear and accept His Word.

Eph 6:17
And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God;

The shield depends on the sword, so the two go hand in hand.

It’s imperative to spend time in the Word, to read the Word, to listen and to meditate on the Word. The more time we spend in the Word, reading and listening, the sharper our sword becomes and the bigger our shield becomes. And the bigger our shield, the more protection we have. Get an audio Bible on your phone and listen to His Word as much as possible.

Heb 11:6
But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

Rom 1:17 & Gal 3:11 & Heb 10:38 & Hab 2:7
“The just shall live by faith.”

1 Joh 5:4
For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world – our faith.

Unfortunately, some have used this teaching (name it, claim it) from the eighties to obtain luxuries and wealth that are unscriptural. These Christians pretend and imagine things rather than walking in HIS will and faith. On the other hand, there are Christians who left “faith” completely causing a defeated church.

Since you first heard John 3:16, you have received faith in accepting Jesus as Saviour. The Word = Faith!

How do you read the Word?

Someone once said: READ LOTS, READ WIDE, READ DEEP.

It is essential to use a good translation of the Bible. Translations like the KJV (King James Version) were translated word for word, and the NIV (New International Version) was translated thought for thought. Then there were paraphrases and new translations that moved further and further from the core truth of the text. These translations read comfortably, and it is a lightweight sword hanging on your side, and you do not have to carry heavy. Once you have to use your sword, you realize your sword is made of aluminium and plastic and doesn’t mean much. When we stand against the enemy, by speaking the Word of God, the scripture we use must be authoritative. To make sure, ask Google if you use a good translation.

Let’s ask the Lord for the Spirit of Truth (THE HOLY SPIRIT). The enemy knows we live in the last days, and his purpose is to deceive the body of Jesus Christ.

2 Thes 2:3
Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition.

Mat 24:24
For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect.

Mat 24:11
Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many.

1 Tim 4:1
Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons.

We see it in today’s time; sin is called hate speech, repentance is something out of the Middle Ages, and the truth is a relative concept. Therefore let’s ask for the Spirit of Truth to protect us and lead us on the right path!

It is essential to realize that a warrior must be strong, wear his full armour and have good eyesight. If he is blind, all his strength, shield and sword will be of no avail.

Rom 12:2
And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

Phil 4:6-7
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

2 Cor 4:16-18
Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.
