Praise Opens the Way

Psalm 100:4
“Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name.” (NKJV)
Praise is not just a song we sing — it is the way we draw near to God. This verse shows us that thanksgiving and praise are the doorway into His presence. We do not enter God’s courts first with complaints, fear, or heavy thoughts, but with thankful hearts and words that honour Him.
Thanksgiving focuses on what God has done, and praise focuses on who God is. When we begin to thank Him and bless His name, our hearts shift. Our eyes move away from ourselves and our problems, and back onto the greatness, goodness, and faithfulness of God.
Praise is powerful because it lifts the soul, strengthens faith, and makes room for God to rule in our hearts. Many believers wait until they feel strong before they praise, but often praise is the very thing that makes us strong.
So the lesson is simple: if you want to come closer to God, start with praise. Open your mouth, thank Him, bless His name, and step into His presence.
Simple takeaway
Praise is the doorway into the presence of God.
